KUCCPS Opens 36 KMTC Programmes Across Kenya for Eligible Form Four Leavers

Barely a week after opening its portal for the Kenya Medical and Training College (KMTC) applications, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has outlined 36 courses and minimum requirements for those seeking to apply for the slots.
KUCCPS on Tuesday, January 13, announced theopportunities toform four leavers who attained minimum grades of C and Din the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The 36 programmes span certificate and diploma levels, including certificates in Community Health Assistant, Health Insurance Management, Health Records and Information Technology, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nursing and Medical Emergency Technician.
Others are Certificates in Medical Engineering, Nutrition and Dietetics, Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine and Certificate in Public Health.
In Diploma, KUCCPS listed Clinical Medicine and Surgery, Community Health, Community Oral Health, Dental Technology, Emergency Medical Technology, Health Counselling and Health Insurance Management.
The placement service also announced diploma slots in Health Promotion, Health Records and Information Technology, Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing and Kenya Registered Nursing and Midwifery.
Other courses in the diploma include Kenya Registered Nursing, Mental Health and Psychiatry, Medical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Social Work, Mortuary Science, Nutrition and Dietetics and Occupational Therapy.
Theminimum entry requirements vary by programme, with some courses requiring a mean grade of C (plain) while others accept D+ (plus) or D (plain), depending on the subject combination.
However, all the courses except Mortuary Science require at least a minimum grade of C - (minus) in English or Kiswahili and Mathematics.
The programmes will be offered across multiple KMTC campuses countrywide, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Embu, Kakamega, Nyeri, Machakos, Meru, Bungoma, Garissa, Kitui, and Homa Bay.
According to the placement service, all applications should be submitted through the KUCCPS online system through the student’s portal,students.kuccps.ac.ke.
Candidates seeking to apply for the medical courses were urged to do so within the next 14 days, with the application window expected to close on January 27, 2026.
